On January 27th, Livingston came to Townsend to face off against the Bulldogs. On our home team we had Dylan Saltzman, Colin Nelson, Mitch West, Colin Hoeffner, Eric Rayome, Joe Spradlin, Kenny Hoeffner, Dillon Doane , Blake Williams, Ryan Reddick , Taylor Dundas, and Logan Snyder. In the first quarter, the Townsend Bulldogs scored a total of six points putting the score at 6-20. Bulldogs fought their way through halftime, score being 11-32. During the third quarter we scored another fifteen points putting the score at 26-54. Bulldogs kept fighting but didn’t pull out with a win, the final score being 30-62.

When asked about the game, Coach Bauman said “We were never in the game from the get go. They put pressure on us and we were not able to take care of the ball.”

For individual stats we had Mitch West, 14, made one two point shot, one three point shot, and had two steals. Colin Hoeffner, 20, made two two point shots, and had one steal. 22, Eric Rayome, had three offensive rebounds, three defensive rebounds, and one steal. Joe Spradlin, 24, made two, two point shots, and four steals. Ryan Reddick, 40, had three offensive rebounds. Taylor Dundas, 42, scored a total of seven two point shots, had five assists and made three offensive rebounds. Logan Snyder, 50, scored one point, had two defensive and one offensive rebound.

Then, on January 28th our hometown Bulldogs traveled to Manhattan to face off against the Manhattan Tigers.  In the first quarter the score was 11-9. We scored another five points in the second quarter leaving the score at 16-26. During the third quarter we scored another eleven points making the score 27-39. Our bulldogs kept up the good work, but weren’t able to pull through. The final score ended up being 45-53.

When asked, Coach Bauman said “We played an overall good game here today. I was pleased with the performance. It was a tough second quarter and if you give Manhattan an inch, they’ll take it from you. We accomplished our goals of shooting more free throws than them, 12 of 19, 63% and more rebounds 20 to 19. We also took control of the game, most of it, playing our style, not theirs.”

For individual statistics; Mitch West, # 14, scored two points, with four defensive rebounds, four turnovers, and two assists. Colin Hoeffner, #20, made one three point shot, had two defensive rebounds, and had five assists. Joe Spradlin, # 24, made four two point shots, two free throws, and had two defensive rebounds. Kenny Hoeffner, # 30, made one free throw, had four offensive rebounds, and had one defensive rebound. # 40, Ryan Reddick, made one two point shot, two free throws and had one defensive and one offensive rebound.             Our Bulldogs put up a good fight against the Livingston Rangers. The next game will be against Shields Valley at Clyde Park at 3:00 p.m., on February 3rd.  Then, February 4th, the Bulldogs will play at Three Forks against the Three Forks Wolves at 3:00 p.m. Hope to see some Bulldog spirit at the games!
