“What’s the worst thing that could happen to some ghost hunters while they’re on location investigating?” Eric Espejo, a resident of Ashburn, has teamed up with Redskins tight end Chris Cooley in the production of the Independent film, Ghost’s Don’t Exist.  The film is bringing a whole new dimension to the Ashburn community thanks to the 19^th & Wilson production team.

After few months of emailing and phone calls, Cooley had signed on as executive producer. “I got a sense that Cooley was an interesting character who might be interested in fun stuff like show business”, said Espejo. “Cooley’s team saw that it was a fun and interesting business venture”.

All filming took place in Northern Virginia and producers received auditions from as far as Spain and Sweden. In the end most of the actors cast in the film were from the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. “It will be really cool seeing the area we live in on the big screen”, says Junior Hayley Struzik.

Currently, producers are working on securing a producer’s representative, and that individual will be responsible for laying out a strategy for festivals and premieres, while mainly selling the film. “A theatrical release is my main hope for the film”, explains Espejo. Although the film does not star any well known actors, horror movies typically do not rely on big names. If Ghost’s Don’t Exist does not go into theaters, the film will be available on DVD within the next year.

“I hope it puts 19th & Wilson [our company], on the map as filmmakers and open doors for more films,” said Espejo. The title of the film says it all- it immediately gets a reaction from believers and peaks the interest of skeptics. The storyline centers on a ghost hunter during an investigation and all the terrifying events that take place. Of course, a very exciting and large local premiere is to be held in the future.
